[Music] 30 29 a no fair peeking 27 no peeking Elizabeth 26 25 24 23 221 do you ever wonder about light where does light come from wherever we go we can see light 12 11 10 9 8 but we can't see things without light one ready or not here I come Elizabeth and her friends are playing a game of hide and seek if light does come into Elizabeth's eyes then she can see can she find where they're hiding will Elizabeth be able to see in the dark why not there isn't enough light a flashlight is a source of light a source of light helps us see things can you think of other sources of light you can see light because it travels from a light source to your eyes you can see other things too things that are not sources of light a ladder is not a source of light neither is a car door you can see these objects because of the way light behaves one thing light does is bounce off objects it can bounce off a mirror a shiny piece of metal a safety reflector light helps us see things did you see what Elizabeth saw gotta you're it [Music] now Christopher is it and he'll learn that sometimes things can block the light why can't Christopher see Anthony behind the tool shed because the tool shed blocks the light it stops light from traveling to his eyes some things block light Anthony knows a good place to hide he knows you can't see through the door it stops the light can Christopher see through the tree but look what does he see there's nothing in the way there to stop the light you're It 2 22 21 Anthony needs a new place to hide and he'll learn that some things block light and some things don't the wall blocks light but that window doesn't some things let light through so you can see Anthony through the glass can you see him through the window shade but the shade does let some of the light through look someone's outside how can you tell there's a shadow Anthony knows who it is do you you can tell by the Shadow's shape it's Erica the light shines on the shade but Erica blocks some of the light so her Shadow falls behind her on the shade keep looking for Shadows a shadow takes its shape from whatever is blocking the light does Erica noticed something strange about the tree Shadow you bet she does you're it Elizabeth is it again elizab is it everybody's been it except where's Anthony T we knew where you were well I got to go me too bye time to go home see you later can you tell what's happening by the shape of a shadow [Music] what's that what's happening wherever things block the light you can see a shadow look at Elizabeth's hand do you see the shadow why is the shadow [Music] changing what's happening the light is changing the Shadow the sun is playing hide and seek the cloud has moved in front of the Sun but the sun is still there so what happens to the shadow now the Sun comes out from hiding and the light gets brighter now what happens to the shadow day is the time when there's lots of light light to help people see things as the sun sets there is less light day passes into night it gets dark and we need to turn on the light to see things so what have we learned about light it travels from a light source into your eyes some things block out light you can't see through them if something blocks out light it can make a Shadow some things let some light through so Elizabeth can see a shadow on the curtain some things let all the light through so Elizabeth can see through the glass to see her [Music] mother how does light help us see see Elizabeth I got to go see you tomorrow byebye look around you look at what light does can you look for light around [Music] you what do you see [Music]
