Bull Kennedy, hearing of Thunderhoof, a wild horse, plans to capture him and defeat the colonel; he tricks the colonel into a bet, then has his men capture the horse. Thunderhoof escapes and tries to lure the filly, Valerie, away; and the colonel's horse is incapacitated by Thunderhoof in a fight. Kennedy recaptures Thunderhoof, and Art rides Valerie against him as the Cunningham entry; Art wins the race and Nancy, and the colonel pays off the mortage."
