Why Men Rape

Ten rapists discuss why they committed their crimes, and, through discussions and interviews with leading authorities, a clearer profile of the rapist emerges. Interwoven throughout the film are interviews with mixed groups of students who discuss their sexual attitudes., Interviews ten convicted rapists from a cross-section of backgrounds concerning their feelings, needs and reasons for raping women. Identifies power, anger, fear of rejection, lack of love, and low self-esteem as common reasons. Points out that "social rape," where victim and rapist have some kind of relationship, is very common and often goes unreported. Visits with mixed groups of college and high school students as they discuss feelings about rejection, society's preoccupation with sex, and sex education.
