[Music] [Music] [Music] who are we well we're Americans most of us go to work every day and try to act like decent human beings some are and some are maybe we're not great maybe we squawk too much maybe we don't have enough courage for our dreams but we do have dreams we're allowed to have futures we're Americans who are we well sometimes weird Evan's sometimes Markowski sometimes Ginsburg sometimes Murphy we're Protestant and Catholic and Jew and you name it we've got our own particular brand of religion or we've got no religion we're tall and short and wide and narrow Arkansas Texas Maine Illinois [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] it all started with a three-cornered hat that a lot of guys refuse to pull down over their ears when Patrick Henry made a speech in a Richmond Church Paul Revere took a ride on a horse [Music] they do this wants to be the Facebook [Music] every village in every [Music] the ride [Music] in 75 upon the grill night the error once children of the moon shone bright [Music] the Charlestown [Music] he heard that the British had the road patrolled that of Port Cambridge with a spirit form he met two regulars face-to-face turned about at a in a boat and suddenly it was all over the rumpus that started with the Jefferson paper well that paper was the Declaration of Independence and the first declaration in the Declaration was this we hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal that they are endowed by their creator with certain inalienable rights and among these rights are the Declaration of Independence that was the start a whole new Syrian government a nation based on the belief that there is a God that he is the creator of man and he is given all men certain rights what this means is this from the moment you are born you have the right to Liberty and no one but no one has the right to take it away from you wherever you live whatever the government even in a wasteland where there's no government at all you still have the right to life and to liberty and to all the other rights with which every human being is born and they're yours until you die a government of the people by the people and for the people [Music] [Music] [Music] it happened just this morning I was walking down the street a milkman and a postman and policeman I did every window every single I recognize people I never know [Music] [Music] [Music] inside everybody there's some there's some good but don't let anybody [Music] after the idea came the blueprint the means of keeping the freedoms once they were one well the blueprint of freedom is the Constitution and spelled out carefully in the Constitution are your rights as a citizen of the United States of America the Bill of Rights you must be allowed to practice the religion of your choice you may say write or print almost anything you wish you may meet with your fellow citizens to discuss whatever they want to discuss you're permitted to complain to your government if you feel you're being treated unjustly a one of the articles of a bill of rights the fourth protects your person home papers or personal belongings against search or seizure without reason you may not be deprived of life liberty or property without due process of law you're not required to testify against yourself in court and you're entitled to a trial by jury freedom was priceless then it's just as precious now the only thing is having always had freedom we sometimes take it for granted freedom has not been one it's never one the Constitution which provides your freedom under law requires your constant dedication the direction we go is our responsibility that's the name of the game that's America [Music] which were America which were all hairy car which way um Harry car which word this is my country I want to know which were very car is going to call there is many are too [Music] [Music] there is many of sport before uh many of to me [Music] [Music] [Music] you know in spite of the idea the blueprint democracy isn't perfect every day you can pick up a paper and read about police corruption teenage crime price-fixing immorality what the morals have to do with freedom huh the answer is everything morality isn't just something for ministers and chaplains to spout from the pulpit it's a way of life and in a government like ours which is run by the people for the people the whole fabric of government is only as strong as the moral fiber the people that make it up play around with moral standards wink at laws and you end up with a lack of respect for authority and the rights of others your rights go right down the drain with theirs and peace and freedom which are dependent upon laws no longer exist goodbye freedom corruption slackness and moral softness are not right and normal for Americans if you want to keep your freedom it must be lived [Music] you can't say African and think straight whether you're a super or achieve the stated [Music] now in Italy there lived a famous architect his architectural plans were nearly always correct this fellow had a mistress and he tried to please her [Music] lovely power in now there was a secret agent who was strong and tall but he had a secret pastime that was known by all and that is how they got him and so today our hero is listed in the files as agent all those are all good [Music] how to deal with people like us for crooks you can learn in college or in history book if you want to save the world from mysterious think how to do it [Music] [Music] [Music] not all Americans believe that all men are created free and equal and maybe they're not some are taller some are smarter summer richer but when you get down to human rights and human dignity all men are equal these rights come from the Creator remember and they're not changed by the shape of a man's head the slant of his eyes the color of his skin his money or his lack of money the equal dignity of man comes from the fact that he is a creation of God [Music] good night I said to my little son he's so tired out too when the day was then he said [Music] tell me daddy what colors God skin [Music] is God [Music] that is black like every man the same in [Music] with his shining eyes I knew I could tell though when he said daddy why do the different races fight if we're the [Music] part of our sovereign [Music] learning in math we had [Music] every man's insane [Music] Marik [Music] the different races are meant to me are strengthened [Music] [Music] America is the very symbol of success we're the country of big cities of broad plains go west young men opportunity for all ranks to riches mass production a chicken in every pot gung-ho can do the difficult we accomplished right away the impossible takes a little longer we've won all the marbles but it just isn't enough a good part of the world is still not free it's our job to set the example carry the torch of Liberty create a civilization here that will call out the truth and beauty of freedom to all men everywhere [Music] in 1775 they sounded a danger call [Music] and ordinary folk called Minutemen took their muskets off the wall took their muskets [Music] they left their cozy Firestar [Music] cardboard America [Music] we must end this greed and hate our Liberty brick by brick [Music] [Music] America freedom but freedom isn't free if we want freedom of speech and religion we must have tolerance for the beliefs of others if we want freedom of action we must have respect for the rights and customs of others we have a duty to serve our beliefs an obligation to our nation just as we have to our family and our God that in our own way with whatever talents we have we will fight to preserve for ourselves and our children our way of life which comes from God [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] well freedom is a word often heard today but if you wanna keep it there's a price to pay each generations got two women anew because it's not something handed down to you [Music] there was a general by the name of George with a small band of men at Valley Forge left the comfort of home for the cold and ice they won independence because he paid the price [Music] [Music] ancient Romans seek help so fries doin what comes naturally they were so busy bee and Mary was that they didn't notice the barbarians [Music] [Music] from Vietnam to Alamein our fighting men will if we just come on when the comfort and ease doing exactly yes we did well [Music] [Applause] [Music] let me tell you who I am I am an American I believe in the right of men to live as human beings with the dignity of becoming the children of God no matter what their creed or color I believe in the right to be free free not only from dictatorships and political regimentation but free for that way of life where men can speak as they choose and worship as they see fit I believe in the right to vote the right to love the right to learn the right to live and equally important the right to be different for if we lose the right to be different we lose our most valuable right freedom I believe in democracy not only for myself but for all my fellow men by democracy I mean not just the rule of the majority but the rights of a minorities not because they are minorities but because they are people I believe in the responsibilities of privilege what I ask for myself I am willing to give to others what I demand from others I am willing to demand of myself my Cree does not just live and let live but live and help live I act from faith in others not fear from others from goodwill not hatred to bigotry I give no sanction to intolerance no support to prejudice I give no quarter I hold these facts to be self-evident that all men are created equal that they are endowed by their creator with certain inalienable rights and among these rights are life liberty and the pursuit of happiness I am an American [Music] [Applause]
