Description: This dramatization is designed to aid children as well as parents and councelors cope with death and the grieving process. When seven-year-old Chad returns home from school, his distraught father informs him that his older brother, Pete, has been killed in a car accident. At first, Chad is unable to comprehend what has occurred and is upset that Pete will be unable to coach his second grade hockey team in an upcoming game. At the funeral parlor, Chad's mother urges him to say goodbye to Pete in his coffin and in flashbacks Chad recalls happy times with his brother. On the day of the big game, Chad unsuccessfully searches for Pete in the crowd. Scoring a goal, the boy catches a fleeting glimpse of his deceased brother who smiles at his victory. Later that night, in a dreamlike nocturnal encounter, Pete bequeathes Chad his hockey stick, comforts him and tells him he will not be seeing him again. The next morning, Chad awakens to find Pete's hockey stick by his bed.
