[Music] A crowd may be changed into a mob in a number of ways. First, most of the crowd must share some common interest. Then add a stimulus. In this case, a forceful leader and you have the makings of a first class riot. [Applause] [Music] For some of these people, novelty was the attraction. For others, the chance to release pent up feelings. The members of the mob, yes, it's a mob by now, have a sense of losing identity. They are anonymous and feel they won't be blamed for anything they do. Stirred up by a skillful agitator, the beginnings of violence spread contagiously.
