Description: Uses a model, microcinematography, and diagrams to explain the principal parts and functions of plant and animal cells. Diagrams a typical animal cell and examines its organelles stressing the membranes, chromosomes, vacuoles, nucleus, mitochondria, and golgi substances. Uses time-lapse microcinematography to illustrate the function of some of these cellular structures. Points out how plant cells differ from animal cells. Explains why the electron microscope is capable of producing images of smaller structures than the light microscopes but has as a major disadvantage the inability to examine living materials.
