Description: This 1950s footage captures the unique student life found at Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas, from swimming at Big Bend National Park and a community barbecue to the annual Sul Ross Rodeo and other sporting events. The film begins with shots of the lush and rocky landscapes of the region and the wildlife that call it home. Back in Alpine, the film observes Sul Ross students as they participate in a livestock show and rodeo. Later, the Lobos take to both the baseball and football field. At an off-campus event, the Sul Ross marching band stages a fake bull fight before a real one. The film concludes with scenes from end-of-year dances and graduation.
