West Germany: the Industrial Giant

Explains some of the factors which contribute to industrial activities in West Germany, especially as related to the Rhine and Ruhr valleys, which provide a source of water power and transportation. Explains that coal, salt and potash are extensive indigenous resources and that iron and steel-making have stimulated of overland transportation units. Promotes the idea that since industrial prosperity, people can afford to buy modern conveniences.
