Were You There Today?

Produced by the Houston-based Bob Bailey Productions for United Fund (now United Way), this 1960s promotional film solicits donations to the organization by contrasting a day for a Houstonian in need with a Houstonian able to give money. Highlighting United Fund’s programs and partnerships, the film illustrates how donations help serve community members. Formed in the mid-1930s, the Houston-based Bob Bailey Productions produced mostly industrial and educational films for area oil, natural gas, and petrochemical companies, but also made newsreels for Fox and Movietone.
