Complete Record: reel one: Aerial shots of the city of Moscow, the domes of churches, statues, streets, different beautiful architecture, Moscow Lomonosov State University. It is winter time, people are walking up the stairs to the University wearing coats and big fur hats. The lobby of the university, classroom of the University, laboratories, students diving into a big indoor pool, students running and playing basketball, big ballroom somebody is giving a speech, big chandeliers and older people in seventies glasses pack the whole auditorium, outside shot of the auditorium. A classroom with computers in it and people of all different races are learning Russian language. A girl from Mali gives her account of why she came to the Soviet Union and what she plans to do with her education and life, she came to the USSR to study biology which is highly developed in the USSR. Another classroom where a lesson plan is going on, cu of students and the professor. CU of a laboratory and students working on different experiments, cu of a machine/computer, back to the classroom we see a professor explaining his lesson to a myriad of students. We move to the library, a cu of a beautiful stain glass window underneath witch says in Russian “library’, we see students studying pan of the library, students studying behind glass walls, two students studying together, the snowy outside and one of the male students is throwing a snowball. reel two: We’re following around that same student with the afro that threw the snowball, he is attending a little song circle where a national folk singer Janna Vishnevskaya is singing Russian folklore songs for the foreign students, then we cut to a shot of two sleds hurrying down a snowy road with three whit horses pulling each sled, it is so typically Russian, it’s called ‘troika’ when there is a sled with three horses. We see the sleds ride by us, then an American David Pierce plays his banjo for the foreign students, he plays folklore American songs. Now we see foreign and Russian students dancing around their skies while someone plays a guitar, the nest shot is of them skiing down the slope together. Next we see students playing ball together in the snow. Back to the University, we are at a language lab where foreign students sit in different booths and learn the language with headphones on. Now we are at a research center where again we see students at the working stations using the apparatus. people from all over the world receive a diploma from the Moscow University. Back to the classroom which is packed with students, Lenin Prize winner Sergei Ahmanov is the professor at the board giving a lecture in quantum mechanics, quantum mechanics and it’s manifestation were born in the soviet Union.
