In this news segment for Houston’s KPRC-TV, broadcast on September 12, 1963, RCA executive Walter Watts predicts the widespread adoption of color television across the nation. Watts was in Houston for a speaking engagement. He foresaw the rise of color television as early as 1948—six years before the technology was introduced—and played a critical role in its development.
