Visual Perception Training In The Regular Classroom

Duration: 23

Year Published: 1970

Creator: INFORMATION INTERNATIONAL

Format: 16mm

Description: Demonstrates how a program for training in visual perception can be integrated with the regular public school curriculum at the kindergarten and early elementary grade levels. Shows how training should proceed step by step, and involve the use of three-dimensional materials and training in body awareness and directionality, as well as two-dimensional pencil and paper exercises. Such a program helps prevent many of the difficulties in learning and behavior that occur because of possibly unsuspected disabilites in visual perception. It also brings the visual perception abilities of "normal' children to the optimum level, in preparation for academic learning. Filmed in a regular public school classroom.
