Visions of Eight

Eight famous directors each filmed a different segment of the 1972 Munich Olympics: Milos Forman, Kon Ichikawa, Claude Lelouch, Juri Ozerov, Arthur Penn, Michael Pfleghar, John Schlesinger, and Mai Zetteling., Eight notable directors were assembled to film their impressions of the Olympic Games at Munich in 1972. Arthur Penn filmed the pole-vault event; Miloš Forman the decathlon; Kon Ichikawa, the 100-meter dash; Claude Lelouch concentrated on the athletes who lost at the Olympics; John Schlesinger recorded the stamina of the marathon-runner; Juri Ozerov showed the tense moments before the starting gun fires; Michael Pfleghar focused on the women participants; Mai Zetterling, the only woman director, contributed an unorthodox view of the weightlifters.
