Village life

Description: Episode of Series “Indians of the Orinoco: the Makiritare”. Introduces the variety of activities in the Makiritare Indian village of Kononama (South America). Women spin cotton, look after babies and chickens, and bathe in the river, while the children draw, wrestle and throw spears. Men weave baskets from sisal for squeezing the poison out of manloc roots and make jewellery for a dance.
