Marines of the 26th Regiment read a paper announcing the invasion of Guam. Others march through streets of San Diego to board transports. MajGen Keller E. Rockey with staff walk to the docks to observe. Supplies are hoisted aboard and men line up with gear (some with non-regulation covers and a mascot). Civilians wave from the dock as the transport pushes away from its birth. A second, unrelated, item from the 1950s features an an officer from a foreign military visiting West Coast bases, signage includes VMF-323 Ordnance.
