Ceremony for James Anderson, Jr. (Medal of Honor, 1967) at the Marine Corps Barracks opens this review of 1968 for the Marine Corps. General Leonard Chapman, Commandant, tours Vietnam. Includes coverage of the Siege of Kh� Sanh, the Tet Offensive at Hue City. President Lyndon B. Johnson speaks to the 27th Regimental Landing Team at El Toro. Women Marines celebrate their 25th anniversary. Training and exercises in the Mediterranean and Caribbean are noted. An array of civic action operations in Vietnam are covered. General Victor Krulak retires in Hawaii. OV-10A Bronco makes its combat debut as close air support aircraft. Helicopters prove increasingly important for operations in Vietnam. Dedication of Cam Lejeune Force Troops Complex and the Presidential Unit Citation is awarded to the 26th Marines for its defense of Kh� Sanh. 27th Regimental Landing Team leaves Vietnam and lands in San Diego with a parade to honor their homecoming.
