An ABC television reporter hosts the award ceremony and hands out trophies along with Commandant of the Marine Corps, Gen. Paul X. Kelley. Men's winner Dean Matthews receives his trophy and speaks to the crowd. Top three male finishers Matthews, Hank Pfeifle, and Craig Holm and top three female finishers Cynthia Lorenzoni, Beth Dillinger Howell, and Leslie Watson stand on podiums holding their trophies. Wheelchair winner Ken Archer and two other runners receive trophies. Marines stand at attention saluting. A Howitzer is shown alongside race route as runners pass by. Footage of runners' gear and close-ups of trophies. Medics sit in a station tent and tend to a runner.
