Description
Film consists mostly of amphibious assault landing practice exercises at Onslow Beach during Operation Solid Shield '85. Trucks and troops depart LCU-1653 of ACU-2 and LCU-1649. A Sikorsky CH53A is shown in the air. Explosives detonate on the beach while CH46 Sea Knights fly overhead and Marines watch and throw smoke grenades. Marines prepare a machine gun at the beach. Tanks move on the beach and LVTP-7s come ashore. Film also includes footage of various planes flying and landing at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point. A KC130R of VMGR-252 taxis down a runway.
