A title card for ""Armed Forces Military Report: Vietnam Briefing Summer 1966"" appears. A group of Vietnamese people construct new buildings. A man in West Germany inspects boxes of medicine before being loaded onto a Douglas DC4 airplane at the Cologne Bonn airport. In Vietnam, people queue to receive the shipment. Australian Prime Minister Harold Holt delivers a speech to troops in Vietnam. South Korea's Tiger Division disembark a landing craft utility ship onto a South Vietnamese beach and load into M35 trucks. CH46 and H34 helicopters land and marines disembark on a search and destroy mission. Marines fire M1 mortars. Marines demonstrate Vietcong traps. LtGen. Victor Krulak visits the command post of the first marine division in a four day tour of the area and receives reports. An F4 lands in an airfield. LtGen. Joseph Moore meets Krulak and the aircraft are serviced. Tanker ships supply fuel to aircraft. F4 aircraft are armed and take off. A C123 from the 310 Air Commando squadron performs supply operations. 1st infantry division troops board C130 aircraft and an M114 howitzer is loaded to perform Op. Birmingham. F4s and A4 Skyhawks lift off from the USS Enterprise (CVAN-65). M114 howitzers are fired. M48 tanks traverse terrain. Marines prepare for Op. Lexington, traversing mud and jungle. Marines take cover and fire M14 rifles in Op. Crazy Horse. President Lyndon Johnson bestows the Medal of Honor to Pvt. Milton Ollie and 1st Lt. Charles Williams. End credits are shown.
