Description
Operation Silver Lance depicts U.S. military assistance in support of a friendly government battling insurgent forces. Initial scenes made in February 1965 document the arrival of LtGen. Victor Krulak by transport plane. LtGen. Krulak and other officers board a UH34D helicopter. An unidentified Colonel greets men dressed in civilian and foreign military clothing and gets into a sedan. As the car drives away personnel dressed as protesters and supporters chase after the car and follow it to the training town. Personnel dressed in foreign military uniforms with M-14s hold back the crowd while VIPs make speeches.
Aerial views of the March 1965 amphibious assault exercise using both helicopter and landing craft born assault troops. Extensive documentation of LVTs, LCTs, and other craft ferrying armor and troops, etc. are seen.
The film closes with an unidentified MajGen. and Colonel reviewing a map aboard a vessel.
