Description
LANTPHIBEX at Camp Lejeune on November 1-3, 1955. LVT-3s disembark LST-1160 and come ashore. LVT-3s move along the beach while a HUP-1 of HU-2 flies overhead. Content related to USMC 103927. F9Fs fly overhead. Civilians, officers of the different branches, and foreign officers observe the maneuvers on the beach from a balcony. Marines unload oil drums from a LSM of the USS Botetourt (APA-136) onto the beach, and use a crane to load the drums on a truck. Footage of signal flags. Marines use communication equipment, travel via a convoy of LVT-3s and M46 tanks, maneuver a rubber assault boat, set up communication wires, receive mail, and eat chow. Aerial footage of beach landings with LVT-3s and LCMs, terrain, and landing craft offshore. Content related to USMC 103924.
