Description
LANTPHIBEX at Camp Lejeune and Morehead City on November 1-5, 1955 with the 6th Marines. Marines get coffee and clean mess cans. Marines operate and ride on M46 tanks, use communication equipment, advance across terrain, operate LVT-3s, sweep for mines, and establish headquarters. A Marine looks over a map of the area. A L5 of VMO-1 flies overhead. R4Qs of VMR-153 lands on the runway. Marines disembark and unload Jeeps from R4Qs. Marines board LSU-664. HRS-1s fly overhead. Officers watch as LSU-664 departs. Marines work on the bridge of LSU-664. Ships featured in the film: LSU-664, USS Robin (MSC(O)-53), and USS Ruff (MSC(O)-54). Marines known to be in the film: R4Q Crew Chief TSGT C. V. Watts.
