USMC 103925 Decade 1950 Date 1955-11 Description LANTPHIBEX at Camp Lejeune and Onslow Beach in November, 1955. At Camp Lejeune, Marines dig foxholes, use communication equipment, eat rations, lay communication wire, and move supplies. Footage of netting used to camouflage vehicles. HRS-1 helicopters drop off Marines in an open field. Marines advance across field under smoke cover and fire rifles. Confederate battle flag flies in background. At Onslow Beach, the "red force", wearing camouflaged utilities and khaki overseas caps, holds defensive positions. Members of the "red force" prepare to fire 30 caliber machine guns, monitor barbed wire defenses, and use communication equipment. Marines assault beach with M46 tanks, LCMs, LCVPs, Jeeps, and bulldozers. Marines establish a beachhead, treat casualties, lay communication wire, and use communication equipment. Signs read, "Shore party information center", "S-4", "S-2", "S-3", "Gas alarm", and "S.P.C.P."
