Description
Marines on leave in Trinidad in July, 1947. Marines visit Knox Zoo where they see anacondas, boa constrictors, caimans, birds, porcupines, agoutis, lowland pacas, lizards, mountain immortelle trees, and avocado trees. A plaque at Knox Zoo reads, "Knox Zoo In commemoration of its accomplishments in the construction of the United States Naval Operating Base Trinidad, B.W.I. this zoo is dedicated to the Thirtieth O.S. Naval Construction Battalion". Footage of a religious ceremony (probably of the Spiritual Baptist or Trinidad Orisha faiths). Two Marines and two young women walk through a park. Content related to USMC 103455. Films slated as being made for production MH-6446.
