Description
The TTU (Troop Training Unit) was a special Naval unit mostly composed of Marines who fought in the Pacific in WWII. The initial function of the TTU was to teach amphibious landing skills to all of the military services. After the entrance of Communist China into the Korean War in late 1950, the TTU took on the task of training troops for amphibious evacuation.

TTU evacuation maneuvers in Puerto Rico. Marines push a LVTP full of Marines out to sea. This LVTP reads, "KA98-10", indicating that the USS Montague (AKA-98) participated in the maneuvers. Footage of the shoreline being shelled. Sailors and Marines pile demolition outfits for Underwater Demolition Teams on the deck of a ship. Marines and sailors pass demolition outfits overhead. Members of Underwater Demolition Team 2 (UDT 2) wear red helmets and sit around an officer who looks over a map. Members of UDT 2 put on large rubber flippers over light canvas boots.
