USMC 103307 Decade 1950 Date 1954-12-22-23 Description Christmas decorations around Quantico. Drawings of the three Magi and a nativity scene sit in front of a brick building. A boy looks at the nativity scene. On the Motor Transport Building sit a drawing of a truck that reads, "Santa's Helper" and a drawing of Santa Claus and reindeer. The building has been adored with Christmas lights and a poster that reads, "Merry Christmas Happy New Year". In front of the Schools Demonstration Troop Building sits a large white cross, signs that read, "1934 Ethiopia", "1954 Indo China", and "First Peaceful Christmas", and mock soldiers kneeling. A giant Christmas card reads, "Merry Christmas from all of us to all of you the Women Marines", and has a picture of a female Marine wearing a Santa Claus hat and riding a reindeer. The entrance of the Headquarters Company/Headquarters Battalion building has a cross and colored Christmas lights attached to its sign. The tree in front of this building has been wrapped in tinsel. The walls of "D" barracks are adorned with large letters reading "Merry Christmas" and "Happy New Year", as well as with colored Christmas lights. A Christmas tree stands outside of "D" barracks. A nativity scene, a drawing of a choir, and Christmas trees sit in front of the chapel. A red barrel reading "Toys for tots" contains toys. Behind the barrel and between two Christmas trees is a poster of Santa Claus driving a car. A sign outside of "E" barracks reads, "Season's Greetings from the Commandant's Headquarters", and has pictures of the Marine Corps emblem and Santa Claus's face. A poster on the Provost Marshal's Office reads, "Merry Christmas", and has a picture of Santa Claus. Outside of the Provost Marshal's Office sits a picture of the three Magi. At the entrance gate, a Christmas display has cutout drawings of Santa Claus and reindeer, a house, a Christmas tree, and the words, "Merry Christmas".
