Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon, Marine Corps Band, Marine Drum and Bugle Corps, and Color Guard march in Sunset Parade at Marine Corps Barracks (D.C.) on April 29, 1955. Silent Drill Platoon drills. Santelmann and Captain Albert F. Schoepper (new Marine Corps Band Director), unidentified officers, Lieutenant General Randolph M. Pate, and unidentified civilians greet each other. Santelmann gives Schoepper a ceremonial sword. Lieutenant General William O. Brice stands to Schoepper's left as he receives the ceremonial sword. Schoepper, Santelmann, and Drum Major First Sergeant Edmond DeMar pose for photographs. Marine Corps Band marches onto parade field. Marine Corps Band marches behind Marine Drum and Bugle Corps. Silent Drill Platoon fix their bayonets. Color guard marches to front and center position, and then returns to its original position. Marine Corps Band and Drum and Bugle Corps pass in review. All Marines on the parade field present arms as the Color Guard lowers the U.S. flag. Spectators (civilians and Marines) watch the Color Guard lower the flag.
