An unidentified Marine looks through a scope. A box next to this Marine has writing that is illegible. A scorer, presumably SSgt. C.J. Donch, fills out a scoreboard with the following names: T.R. Mitchell (Capt), D.L. Rukstalis (Cpl), J. Galbraith (PFC), and C.J. Donch (SSgt). An unidentified Marine in prone position fires two rounds and records the placement of his shots in a booklet. Unidentified lieutenants hold large silver trophies. General Clifton B. Cates speaks from a podium. Numerous trophies line a table to Cates' right. Behind Cates sits Major General Merritt A. Edson, who wears civilian clothes. Marines and civilians watch the awards ceremony. An unidentified officer speaks at the podium. Edson, Major General Edwin A.
