Documentary report on the combined operations to capture Okinawa by the 24th Army Corps and the Third Marine Amphibious Corp. Topics reviewed include: amphibious tank landing, terrain, civilian population, road conditions, snipers, the enemy's use of decoys and suicide boats, street fighting and the use of flamethowers, aerial resupply, the challenges of advancing up well defended heights, and the impact of weather. The narrative ends with a discussion of Sugar Loaf Hill and the ongoing battle for Naha. This copy missing opening credits.
