This film followed by footage from Marine Air Station Goleta--taken prior to deployment (2 February 1945). Marine aviators with kit bags leave by bus and train to North Island to board the carrier. Off Goleta (or Santa Barbara pier) the TBM squadrons drill on escaping the craft after crashing into the the sea. A TBM fuselage with crew is dropped into the ocean and the crew exits the plane and rows away. Note: includes close-ups of Marine aviators Crone and Backhaus. Location(s) Goleta (Calif.)
