Kennedy pays respects at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia on Veterans Day, November 11, 1963. Kennedy marches with military officers and the Color Guard, then lays a wreath at the foot of the tomb as a large crowd of military and civilians look on. Film also depicts the Chairman of the Veterans Day National Committee and U.S. Army General David M. Shoe giving speeches, the Marine band performing and the Color Guard presenting. There are additional shots of the graves at Arlington, the Tomb of the Unknown soldier and its guard. The films closes with a scene of wreaths left at President Kennedy's gravesite.
