Description: Uses animation and live-action photography to portray the use of the oscilloscope in determining the speed of electrical impulses along nerve fibers, to show the structure and operation of the oscilloscope, to interpret the results obtained with the oscilloscope, and to suggest uses of the oscilloscope in biological research. Pictures an experiment designed to measure the speed of a nerve impulse along a nerve, gives the function of each piece of equipment used, discusses the results shown on the oscilloscope screen, and presents the mathematics required for solution of the problem of finding the speed of nerve impulses.
