Description: This silent black-and-white film showcases scenes from both the Voorhis Unit in San Dimas and the Kellogg Unit in Pomona, part of the California State Polytechnic College. It documents the transition of instruction from the Voorhis Unit to the Kellogg Unit. At the Voorhis Unit, the film captures the landscape, including the Voorhis Chapel, Sunset Dormitory, swimming pool, glass house, Voorhis Field, and the administrative building. It also highlights classes in crop and deciduous production, horticulture, animal husbandry, agricultural engineering, and ornamental horticulture. At the Kellogg Unit, the film features the landscape of the Science and Classroom Buildings, which serve the biological, physical sciences, and agricultural departments. It also includes sketches of the proposed Engineering Building, intended to house the electrical, mechanical, aeronautical, and industrial engineering departments. The film concludes with an early commencement ceremony held at the Rose Garden on the Kellogg campus. The film also features scenes of an Arabian Horse Show. W.K. Kellogg, the founder of Kellogg Company, renowned for its breakfast cereals, played a significant role in the history of Cal Poly Pomona. The campus stands on the former grounds of Kellogg's Arabian horse ranch, established in 1925 and later transferred, along with all horses, to the state of California in 1932.
