As a matter of fact, Joe mechanic. 1:14 - Oh. 1:18 - Why, he'll be working in your section. 1:18 - Oh. 1:20 - Joe's a master Sergeant 1:21 of one of the top Reserve units in the nation. 1:21 (phone buzzes) 1:24 Popper here. 1:25 Yes. 1:26 Listen, I tell you what, get ahold of Joe mechanic. 1:29 He'll take care of it, right? 1:31 Oh, yes sir. 1:33 That Joe, he can fix anything. We're very proud of Joe. 1:51 Great guy. 1:53 Remember when the Navajo Indians were snowed in? 1:55 - Oh, yes, I... 1:58 - (Chuckles) Well Joe's unit was part 1:58 of the airlift that saved their lives. 2:00 The Indians were the first ones to use corn, you know 2:03 - Well, actually I... 2:06 - You're frightened without corn we'd be out of job, right? 2:07 - Oh (laughs) 2:09 - (laughs) Ah, yes. - Yeah. 2:12 The Air Force Reserve is always doing things like that, 2:13 you know. 2:15 Like building playgrounds, working with Boy Scouts 2:16 The Civil Air Patrol, helping kids keep out of trouble. 2:19 - You see, I'm a member, actually. 2:23 - Mm. Mm. Mm. 2:25 It's not bad. 2:28 That's not bad! 2:29 Controller, control? Popper here, latest batch, not bad. 2:32 Good as a matter of fact, but it could be better. 2:38 I think you ought to check those drawing bins. 2:42 And control, stop worrying! 2:44 Now, oh yes, yes. 2:48 Air force Reserve activity. 2:50 - Yes. You see, I'm... 2:52 - Well I'm sure you know Arthur 2:53 about their medical units going 2:55 into depressed areas to run clinics. 2:57 Giving folks who otherwise couldn't afford it, 2:59 pre-immunization, medical care. 3:01 That's great work. 3:03 Not only that, but in the unlikely event 3:05 some country was stupid enough to attack the United States. 3:07 You, Joe and the rest of the Air Force Reserve 3:11 would be among the first to defend this great land of ours. 3:14 - We certainly would sir. 3:18 - Hmm. Yeah, that's... that's the right shape. 3:20 Right shape? 3:24 - Yes, certainly looks it, I must say. 3:25 A little off on texture, a little off on texture. 3:26 Just a touch more steam Bryan! 3:30 (clears throat) 3:32 Just a touch! 3:33 Oh, Good old Joe. 3:35 (chuckles) I remember the time 3:37 the butter machine went crazy. 3:39 No, no, it practically drowned us all 3:41 in a sea and hot butter. 3:44 And it was Joe's Air Force Reserve training 3:47 that came through. 3:50 If it weren't for Joe's expertise 3:52 we might've been shut down for a week. 3:53 Just think, kids all over America 3:56 would have had to watch movies without popcorn. 3:58 (laughs) 4:01 But Joe fixed the butter machine 4:02 and redesigned the transistor, self-regulator 4:04 so it wouldn't happen again. 4:07 Yeah. Joe learned a lot of those skills in the Reserves, 4:09 Oh, but of course, you know that! 4:14 - Yes 4:16 - Why... Secretary Mr. Popper, telephone. 4:17 - Popper here. 4:18 I see. Okay Susie, set up the sales meetings... 4:19 at the 24th, right. 4:22 And not only are we proud to have you Reserves pour popcorn, 4:24 but the company's happy to see our employees 4:27 get that extra money, 4:29 And the retirement benefits, 4:30 not to mention the satisfaction you must have 4:32 knowing you're doing something great for your country. 4:36 - We certainly feel... 4:38 - It adds up to a lot. 4:39 Ah, Joe. 4:41 - Hi, Mr. Popper. 4:42 Arthur meet Joe Joe. 4:43 - How are you, Joe? 4:44 - Hi Art. 4:45 - Well, Joe understands your off this afternoon. 4:46 for a few days of Reserve training. 4:47 - Yep. Yep. Yep. 4:49 - Fine, fine, fine. 4:50 And listen, don't worry about our new manager here 4:51 (chuckles) 4:54 Arthur understands, right, Arthur? 4:54 - Mm hmm. 4:56 - Well, see you Joe, and listen, have a good time. 4:57 - So long Mr. Popper. See you 'round, Art. 5:00 Popper You know, my father, old Jay Popper 5:03 started his firm more than 50 years ago. 5:05 Great man, my dad, great innovator. 5:08 He was probably one of the first employers 5:11 in the nation to give his whole hearted support 5:13 to the Air Force Reserve. 5:15 Arthur Is that a fact? 5:16 - Yeah. He used to fly, you know? 5:17 - No, I didn't know that. 5:19 - Yes sir, Arthur. 5:20 Our policy has always been, and always will be, 5:21 that anybody working for this company 5:24 is encouraged to participate in Reserve programs. 5:26 Arthur, my dad always said 5:30 "What's good for the Air Force Reserve is good for America" 5:33 and what's good for America, is good for Popcorn, 5:37 (laughs) right? 5:40 - (chuckles) Right. 5:41 - I haven't forgotten that one. 5:42 Listen, Arthur, I'm leaving myself today, 5:43 International Popcorn Convention. 5:46 - Oh yes, yes. 5:48 - But I'm sure Popcorn can manage without me for a few days. 5:49 Has before you know. 5:52 (both laugh) 5:54 (both clear throats) 5:55 Well now listen, you feel free to use my office. 5:57 - Oh well, thank you. 5:59 - And say, while I'm gone, quality control, 5:59 30, 40 bags a day never hurt anyone. 6:03 Oh.
