Description: Produced in cooperation with General Motors Safety Research and Development Laboratory at General Motors Proving Ground in Milford, MI, this 1968 industrial film documents vehicle crash tests to show people become “unrestrained flying objects” when they do not wear a seat belt. To add to the drama, the patriarch of the crash test dummy family narrates the action. “After all,” he says, “we dummies can be made good as good as new again with some plastic and wire and perhaps a few spare parts. Regular people can’t.”
