Traces the history of the NBA, beginning with the reign of the Minneapolis Lakers in the late forties and fifties. Points out that the creation of the 24-second rule in 1954 revolutionized the game, and three years later the Boston Celtics began a dynasty using speed, great rebounding and intimidating defense to win nine world championships in a 10-year period.
