Kellogg's (of Kellogg's cereal) Arabian Horse Ranch. Kellogg deeded the land over to the school with the stipulation that they maintain the breeding program and that the land be used for educational purposes. The breeding program continues to this day and is one of the the oldest Arabian horse breeding programs in the United States. The film taken in 1968 of the Arabian horse unit features the original stables that Kellogg built in 1926. The stables were eventually moved in 1972 to what is now the W.K. The film begins with a report from KCRA reporter Spencer Michaels at San Quentin Prison on the eve of the 1967 execution of Aaron Mitchell. Mitchell was convicted for the 1963 murder of police officer Arnold Gamble. The report was followed by statements from Mitchell's mother and the widow of Officer Gamble. Description: KCRA-TV reporter Otis Turner takes us back to 1968 and the redevelopment of the west end of Sacramento, California, now referred to as Old Sacramento or the Historic River District.  In the late 1950s into the 1960s this area, home to many Japanese, Chinese, black and Hispanic families, was considered to be "blight to be pushed into the river." With the construction of Interstate 5 through the middle of the West End, Sacramento was forever changed.
