Describes the role of fishing hatcheries in stocking and replenishing the local lakes and streams, principally with trout. Explains the stripping of eggs from mature trout, artificial fertilization in the nurseries, scientifically controlled hatching and feeding, chemical purification of the water, daily feeding and testing, the periodic sorting and segregation, and, finally, the transfer of the large healthy fish to local streams and lakes.
