Trigger Films On Aging (1971)

well i generally get up at six o'clock in the morning this morning i got up at five i knew that i was going to be in the movie and so i wanted to be ready in time that i wouldn't hold anyone up they walked and they walked and they walked and finally they came back home giving us permission to take pictures with mrs p at work i wish i had picked someone else why because we're going to have uh to terminate mrs p you're gonna fire her yes um as you have seen she has very poor mobility and even though she's a wonderful person and does have a contribution to make to this kind of a program we need someone who can get around a little bit better i have arthritis and i just have to wait on the motion of the arthritis to move before i can get started and i have a rubbish stocking that i have to wear and i have to put it on the bus generally come between a quarter past 8 and 8 30 and it takes me quite a little while to get it on so i always get up and give myself a plenty time to get this stocking on then i can kind of steamboat round the bin uh she's walking with a cane and this is something that she has picked up in recent months and it's always a threat or temptation that one of the kids running down the hall would run into her or will run and take the cane away from her something that will cause her to stumble and fall uh we're lucky that we have not had this kind of an accident but it's a threat and we are aware of it i visit with the children and take them on walks or whatever they want to do and i uh give them the tender love and care because uh so often the children don't get the tender love and care that a grandparent can give to him yes i will be the one to tell her that her services are no longer needed i'm sure she'll understand it but at the same time she'll be a little sad about having to leave us oh i just love my work i just love it as a rule i love children anyway and children is really my pet peeve children and elder people older people than me the middle class i think they can handle themselves pretty well but children if you want to really get me riled up you just mistreat a child or an elder person and you really will get me riled up it might not be much i can do but i'll do what i can the right [Music] oh is it my deal i think it is all right [Music] [Applause] [Music] thank here [Music] so so easy joe easy come your way you got it made now and you guys will need the big dolly for the dining room stuff what about the stuff down here does it go everything goes bring it down well there's a lot of little stuff down here it's not sad is it dull everything goes everything hey [Applause] [Music] we'll worry about it later hey you're gonna have to take the legs off that thing you need a screwdriver here boy there's some real old stuff in this place [Music] as long as it's tagged don't worry about it you
