Presents in concert eight of this country's most celebrated violinists: Andres Cardenes, Miriam Fried, Herbert Greenberg, Jacques Israelievich, Raymond Kobler, William Preucie, Richard Roberts, and Yuval Yaron. All were students of Indiana University's violin master Josef Gingold, and all came to Bloomington to perform in this special concert held in honor of his seventy-fifth birthday. Paul Biss, conductor, music faculty member, and himself a former Gingold student, organized the celebration and serves as commentator for the program. Biss selected music for the performance that has held special meaning for Gingold throughout his career as performer and teacher, including Vivaldi's Concerto in B Minor for Four Violins, Bach's Double Concerto in D Minor, and Spohr's Concerto No. 8 in A Minor.
