Description: Map animation techniques shows the vast inland waterway system of the United States, divided into those serving the cities of the Mississippi Basin; the Atlantic coast; the cities along the Gulf of Mexico; the cities of the Pacific coast; and the cities of the Great Lakes. The film studies the importance of these waterways to industry and farming, and shows types of goods transported and methods of transport.
