Description: The dwarf mongoose, a small African mammal, lives in a highly socialized community. In this film, the resilient animals are observed feeding, defending the colony against predators (storks, snakes and goshawks) and interacting within a rigid social structure. A female leads the band in which each member has an assigned duty such as babysitter, lookout or soldier. Within each small group, only the female leader may breed.
