Description: This sequel to Broken Treaty at Battle Mountain updates the protracted dispute of the Western Shoshone with the U.S. government over 25 million acres of land in the Great Basin of Nevada by centering on the dire situation of sisters Carrie and Mary Dann, Native American ranchers, accused by the government of trespassing. Invoking the tenets of the Treaty of Ruby Valley, the Danns have asserted their claim to ancestral lands but have been challenged by various governmental agencies including the Departments of Justice, Energy and the Interior as well as the Bureau of Land Management who have supported the federal government's aims to lease the land for oil digging and strip mining.
