Description: This color travel film is about the country of Spain and flying Iberia Airlines to get there. There is no copyright but based on research this is circa the late 1960s/early 1970s. It is narrated by Ricardo Montalbán. Opening: sun in the distance, castle walls, sheep walk down a street, windmills move, an altar boy rings a church bell on its roof, a priest walks by, a Spanish castle. This is Spain. An atomic powerplant shares the view with a statue of Columbus, facing the water. A man rides a donkey as trucks go down a street. Oxen, camels.A young boy, an older woman. A painting of the Virgin Mary. A fountain near a building. Close on an airplane wheel going down the runway. A jumbo jet takes off into the sky. The wheels disappear into the jet's undercarriage. the day his Statue faces the sea sharing the view with an atomic power plant [Music] the ships will definitions fly these waters here is the past and the present [Music] [Applause] [Music] the young and the young in heart here dedicated hands through the centuries have created works of immortality [Music] how can I tell you all the grandeur of Spain make you know the warmth of his people understand their pride the YC castles in Spain homes of kings do I see them or or is it that I just dreamed of such thing [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] mm out with imagination it is evident that a veil of important surrounds display or it is a magic carpet flying to a land that is a rainbow of color swift are the wings on route gracious hospitality that is Spain becomes apparent [Music] and now but with just moments more than dreams come true my drill only hours away from major airports of the world Madrid gateway to Europe a city of irresistible appeal modern buildings busy avenues and excellent hotels [Music] new apartments quaint Lynn streets sidewalk cafes a city of memorial fountains and statues here all roads lead to adventure within minutes of Madrid there stands a watchtower build in the 13th century by the Moors warm verdant valleys nestled in powering planes lies an excellent resort offering summertime and wintertime pleasures then the Magnificent castle in the city of Segovia home of Kings is a 13th century [Music] and long before their roles in history the Romans built this aqueduct to carry water into Segovia more than 95 feet in height almost 2,500 feet in length it contains a hundred and eighteen arches carved stones wedged into position no mortar was used a 15th century cathedral stands majestically her steeple pointing skyward not far from Segovia is the only completely walled city in the world Avila it was here that son thought that I saw one of the patron saints of Spain was born in 1515 [Music] although the city's believed to have existed in the first century it's wall and eighty-eight towers were built in the 11th century [Music] part of the wall is formed by a Cathedral the oldest active Cathedral in Spain the stones in this dome are held in place by mortar made of gold is this not the Land of Enchantment bridges built by Romans [Music] and suddenly there is a city of Toledo standing tall and
