Timber sense

Description: This 1961 film shows some of the ways in which accidents may be prevented in the timber production industry, in forests and sawmills. While working in the forest, the film shows the importance of wearing safety helmets and boots to avoid the danger of falling limbs; creating a clear getaway from felled trunks; and safely loading logs onto a timber truck. It then shows safe practices when working in sawmills, including wearing safety glasses to protect against sawdust and splinters; installing guards on circular saws; and keeping the floor clear.
