Description: Traces the development of an infant teacher’s approach to a class over a period of eight months at Pastorious Public School, Philadelphia. Initial traditional methods gain little response from her negro and underprivileged students. On introduction of a more relaxed and individual teaching program, the children become more involved with their surroundings and teacher.
