[Music] It was springtime in Palestine and on a hill outside Salem, Jesus was instructing two of his disciples, Peter and John, to go into the city and find a place where they could observe the feast of the Passover together. And so Peter and John went to look for the place as Jesus had instructed them, little knowing that this was to be their last supper with the master. [Music] Jesus became saddened by the knowledge that he would never again eat the pascal meal with his disciples. I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover before I suffer. For I tell you, I shall never eat it again until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God. In the kingdom of God. [Music] Which of us shall be regarded as the greatest among his followers? Which one? [Music] Let the greatest among you become as the youngest and the leader is one who serves. For which is greater, one who sits at table or one who serves? Is it not the one who sits at table? But I am among you one who serves. [Music] Lord, do you wash my feet? What I am doing, you do not know now, but afterward you will understand. You shall never wash my feet, Lord. I do not wash you. You have no part with me. [Music] Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head. He who has bathed does not need to wash except for his feet. And he is clean all over. And you are clean, but not all of [Music] you. Do you know what I have done to you? No, Lord. What does it mean, Master? You call me Master and Lord, and you are right. For so I am. If I, then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet. You also ought to wash one another's feet. For I have given you an example that you should do as I have done to you. If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them. I am not speaking of you all. I know whom I have chosen. It is that the scripture may be fulfilled. He who ate my bread has lifted up his heel against me. I tell you this now before it takes place, that when it does take place, you may believe that I am he. Lord, you seem troubled in spirit. Truly I tell you, one of you will betray me. Do this. Who could it be? Is it I, Lord? Lord, is it I? He who has dipped his hand in the dish with me will betray me. The son of man goes as it is written of him. But woe to that man by whom the son of man is betrayed. It would have been better for that man if he had not been born. Ask him who it is of whom he [Music] speaks. Lord, who is it? [Music] It is he to whom I shall give a morsel when I have dipped it. [Music] Master, is it I You have said so. What you are going to do? Do quickly. [Music] Now is the son of man glorified and God is glorified in him. Little children, yet a little while I am with you. You will seek me, but where I am going, you cannot come. A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another. Even as I have loved you, you also love one another. By this all men will know you are my disciples if you have love for one another. You will all be offended because of me this night. For it is written, "Smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered. But after I am raised up, I will go before you into Galilee. Though they all be offended because of you, I never will be. Lord, where are you going? Where I am going? You cannot follow me now, but you shall follow me afterwards. Lord, why cannot I follow you now? I will lay down my life for you. Will you lay down your life for me? Truly, I say to you, this very night before the [Music] cockro, you will deny me three times. Even if I must die with you, I will not deny you. [Applause] [Music] [Music] Take and eat. This is my body which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me. [Music] Drink of it, all of you. For this is my blood of the covenant which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. Truly I tell you, I will not drink again of this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new with you in my father's kingdom. [Music] Let not your hearts be troubled. You believe in God, believe also in me. In my father's house are many mansions. If it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will receive you unto myself. But where I am, there you may be also. And where I am going, you know the way. Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way? I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man comes to the Father but by me. If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From henceforth you know him and have seen him. Lord, show us the Father, and we shall be satisfied. Have I been so long time with you and yet you do not know me, Phillip? He who has seen me has seen the Father. How then can you say, "Show us the Father?" Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father in me? The words that I say to you, I do not speak of my own authority. But the Father who dwells in me does his works. Truly I say to you, he who believes in me, the works that I do will he do also, and greater works than these will he do, because I go to the Father. If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he will send you another comforter to be with you forever. [Music] Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. [Music]
