Description: Explains that about 18,000 kob are organized into social units attached to traditional breeding grounds - leks. Describes each lek as consisting of a cluster of 30 to 40 territories forming an arena about 200 yards across. Views males defending territories through ritualized displays and fighting for an advantage in mating. Follows estrous females who are the only ones to enter the lek where they engage in an an elaborate mating ceremony.
