The Slender span

Description: The building of the new 5,240 foot long suspension bridge over the River Severn which is designed to improve communication between England and South Wales. Shows sequences of building which include the construction of the concrete piers and 400 foot towers, the spinning of the main cables and the hoisting of the large roadway sections into position.
